Still theatre in miniature art form.
Rasalok (pronounced rasaaloka) is a unique still theatre and miniature installation art form.
Roughly translated from Sanskrit Rasaaloka connotes a heightened aesthetic experience of a micro universe. It is performed in the focused atmosphere of a rustic small theatre. It is a live solo theatrical narration by the artist of her own miniature art composition and depiction of a classic moment in its entirety . She handmakes dynamic yet still characters by sculpting postures and painting in expressions , classic costuming, handcrafting her miniature jewellery etc. And she imaginatively and sensitively composes from various earthy media the natural surroundings –flora ,fauna , dwellings, nature . All in miniature proportions . She shares the joyous experience of this universal “moment” enacted by her and her creations on the mini-stage in her oral renditions all day through Dussehra.
Over 3000 connoiseurs and admirers of art from various age groups and walks of life were enthralled by the over 110 solo performances of 75minutes each by the two individual artists this Dussehra .
