What’s Indian Classical Music and how can one learn it? The
documentary film “Be a Medium” shows how Hindustani Sangeet is taught
and learnt. The film lays special emphasis on the typical Indian
relationship “Guru-Shishya Parampara”. It is focused on cultural
meaning of Indian Classical music.
Ronald Kurt
Ronald Kurt is Professor of Sociology at the University of Constance
and the University of Kassel. He is a Senior Fellow at the Institute
for Advanced Study in the Humanities (KWI) Essen, Germany. Ronald Kurt
published several books, papers and made two Documentary films. In
2008 he won the Gisela Bonn Award of the Indo-Germany society.
